During his stay in Paris Vincent Van Gogh owned a box filled with 16 skeins of two- and three coloured yarns. With these yarns he decided what colour to use in his
paintings.

Loret Karman will present you the story behind this box with 16 balls of yarn and the scientific study that was done by the Van Gogh’s Museum on his work practice. Loret Karman worked together with the museum to create a copy of this yarn box and has been studying and teaching about this interesting inheritance Vincent left behind. While working with the box she and her students discovered many interesting ways to use this information in their own practice.

Under sit ophold i Paris ejede Vincent Van Gogh en kasse fyldt med 16 nøgler af to- og trefarvede garner. Med disse garner besluttede han, hvilken farve han skulle bruge i sine malerier.

Loret Karman vil præsentere historien bag denne æske med 16 garnnøgler og den videnskabelige undersøgelse, der blev udført af Van Gogh‚s Museum om hans arbejdspraksis. Loret Karman arbejdede sammen med museet om at skabe en kopi af garnæsken og har studeret og undervist om denne interessante arv, Vincent efterlod sig. Mens hun arbejdede med boksen, opdagede hun og hendes studerende mange interessante måder at bruge denne information på i deres egen praksis.
